Usless Product June 1, 2010 M. Kaz 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
The velcro side is upside down so it does not lock. uslesss product.
I also discovered Amazne return procedures is lots of work and stinks.
Products shiped should include a return form for easy returns.
Great product great price April 22, 2010 Sara M. Murphy I did quite a bit of research before purchasing these weights. I was still a little concerned about the fit (some reviews say these are much too large) but I am very happy with the fit, material, and ease of use. I am 5' 4" 134lb adult female, and these fit my ankles very well ( I do think they'd be too big for my wrists, but I wanted ankle weights). The velcro is very sturdy, the material is very durable, and these don't slide around as I exercise nor do they rub against my skin. There are 5 separate 1lb weights (bags of sand I think) and it's great that I can change the weight in 1lb increments as I choose, they are easy to get in and out, and no chance of them falling out while exercising, there's a flap that velcro's them in. Great buy and always easy to order products through Amazon.
As Advertised, Great Price with Prime Shipping April 18, 2010 NVS Valeo AW10 10-Pound Adjustable Ankle / Wrist Weights
Hey - they're only leg weights!
Great price with Prime shipping (available when I ordered mine) and they are relatively comfortable for the short time you will wear them.
You can wash them by taking weights out if they get smelly or dirty.
I was warned to avoid walking or running with leg or arm weights because of the added rotational momentum they will place on joints and ligaments. I see people doing this, presumably because they believe that it helps them lose weight or gain strength, which is apparently a poor choice.
Looking For A Cheap Home Exercise Tool? Your Weight Is Over April 12, 2010 Rachael 38 out of 38 found this review helpful
If you're looking around for some wrist/ankle weights, these are a good choice. Here's what I like the most about them:
-they're adjustable. This is clearly their best feature and saves you having to buy multiple weights of different increments. No need to buy a 1lb weight, then a 2lb weight, and then a 3 as you get stronger on an exercise- with these, you just take out or add what weight you need
-the price is comparable to other cuff weights and a cheap means overall of doing exercises where you need added weight
-they're portable enough that one could throw them in the car when traveling
For me, this is the way to go if you're looking for some cuff weights to go along with your home exercises. A word of caution- while it says "10 lb adjustable weights", that doesn't mean each cuff is 10 lbs- rather each cuff is a made up of five, 1lb cylinders for a total weight of 5 lbs for EACH cuff.
Good for general fitness or home physical therapy exercises, they're a great little product. Also recommend Treat Your Own Tennis Elbow for those looking for a good resource on tennis elbow.
These are great! March 29, 2010 MyPenName (Pennsylvania) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I wear these ALL DAY LONG. They are comfortable. I am on my feet all day at work and in constant movement/walking. I do not sit down at work, unless it is to go to the bathroom lol. When I get home from work, I keep these on while doing my housework etc and I have no irritation from them and they do not slip or dig in to my leg or ankle.
They secure with 2 velcro straps which stick great. They do not come loose at all. I have had no issues at all using these. They are very well made and very durable. They do not seem like they would fall apart or "wear out." I am sorry but I think that 2nd review where the purchaser said they fell apart and leaked "black stuff" was a fluke. First of all, he would have had to tear open the weight bags for "black stuff" to spill out. Secondly, they are just made too well to have fallen apart or have the strap tear off. These things are secure, there's no doubt about it. The build quality is great.
I like them. It makes me feel like I am getting more out of my everyday activities and that I am sneaking in more exercise without having to add anything additional to my current routine - I don't have to set aside any additional time. I just put them on and go about my day. They are comfortable to wear and I am glad that I bought them. I am hoping to see some sort of results from using them, even if only minimal. It is too early yet to determine that though.
