Cast Iron Griddle June 17, 2010 Not For Hire Lodge is the country's leading manufacturer of cast iron cookware, and they didn't let me down this time around.
The griddle came pre-seasoned but I re-seasoned it myself and the pan cooks everything wonderfully.
Cannot go wrong with good cast iron.
Great Griddle! June 3, 2010 Linda (Pembroke Pines,Fl) I didn't get this on Amazon but wanted to add a review. This is a great griddle. With my first use I just sprayed on some non-stick spray and my pancakes cooked up quickly and evenly. No sticking at all and I didn't have to re-apply any non-stick spray. I don't know why anyone had problems with sticking. Perhaps they didn't allow warm up time. The surface I found to be smooth, not rough. I'm very happy with it. And since it's a flatter griddle it's not overly heavy. A definate keeper.
Good Dosa making pan May 31, 2010 Arjun Kanduri (Waltham, Ma USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
It is worth trying this product before throwing out several hundred dollars on more expensive cooking sets. Although the food sticks to the pan initially but with enough seasoning you would enjoy this product eventually.
Pros:
1) Dosa tastes better
2) cheap compared to expensive Calaphalon
3) rugged, durable and retains heat
4) cooks twice as fast compared to non-stick pans
5) Overall, We decided to try this pan before spending 250.00 on Calaphalon set and we are very happy with our decision to try this one out first.
6) scratch resistant
Cons:
1) Heavy to use
2) sticks to pan initially although pre-seasoned (check in other reviews for pan seasoning)
3) Need to use little oil for seasoning ( we use oil spray)
4) Never use soap and scrub to wash the Griddle (Wipe it out when hot and apply seasoning for future use)
5) takes little longer to heat up.
My oldest and most used pan May 11, 2010 mbowes (Round Rock, TX) There are already plenty of reviews for this pan, so I won't waste your time with details or amusing anecdotes.
Let me just say that I've owned this pan for 15 years. I have used it 2-4 times per week during those years, mostly for tortillas, but also quesadillas, grilled cheese and other sandwiches. There is no better pan for those purposes. It is in better condition than ever and I fully expect to own it for the rest of my life.
Great Cast Iron Griddle! April 30, 2010 C. Honeycutt (San Diego, CA) Just recently purchased this griddle. I've used it a lot and after each use I wipe it
using a paper towel with some vegetable oil (canola), and then let it sit on the burner for a few minutes.
It is virtually non-stick for me already and I've cooked hash browns, fried eggs (over easy), quesadillas,
pancakes, tortillas, and my favorite, grilled cheese sandwiches. I love this griddle, it's great!
I leave it on my stove because it has so many uses. And the price can't be beat.
