Great Case for the Money July 29, 2010 John Prospect (Columbus, OH) For the price this is a great case for protecting your gun during transports. I use it with a Mossberg 590A1 and it works exceptionally well. I have other long guns from SIG Sauer that include a case with the purchase of the gun. This case was just as good if not better than the cases provided by SIG Sauer.
If you just need a case for transporting your long gun this will work well. If you want to throw the gun case around and plan on dropping it or other heavy use then this might not be the best case to buy. Works better than most soft cases and is a great price. No complaints so far.
Basic case, worth what it costs (barely) July 28, 2010 M. Uhlfelder (Aspen, CO USA) This case is barely okay but has one huge problem -- the handle. The handle is so flimsy, I don't know that I would be able to trust it to carry the case with anything in it.
Plano Pillared Single Scoped Gun Case July 24, 2010 tywh-89 Let's get one thing straight, this gun case is cheap! So if you're expecting anything more, then don't buy it.
It does its job of storing my Rem-870, but I would not use this case for air travel.
I gave this three stars because it's not bad and it's not that good. I wouldn't recommend using this case for anything except light transportation.
You get what you pay for June 24, 2010 Peter Yagmin I received my case today and I have to admit I was slightly disappointed in the quality. Maybe I wouldn't have felt so bad about it if I paid $10 for it.
I definitely wouldn't use this case to secure a firearm, but it will serve it's purpose for me to transport my rifle to the range.
The handle is very flimsy, and the case is very thin. You would absolutely need to put 4 padlocks on this case to secure your firearm inside. If you only lock one end or even the center, you can slip the rifle out of one end with no problem.
Bottom line, if you just want a cheap case to tote your firearm this will do fine. If you want a case to properly secure your firearm, you should spend the extra money on a better case than spending it on 4 padlocks.
I've had better April 15, 2010 C. S. Sutton 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Not really happy with my new Plano cases. They are bulky! The interior padding is not glued or fastened to the case, so that every time I open the cases, the padding falls down from the upper half of the case. There are protrusions that are intended to re-enforce the strength of the case, like as though I'm going to run over my rifle case with my auto, therefore I need a super tough case - but - these protrusions do nothing but get in the way and consume space. My rifles slop around inside the case, figure that the foam is insufficently thick to actually squeeze the rifle between the two pieces of foam. so that my rifles will lay flat, but don't pick up the case - cause when I do - I can hear my rifle sliding around inside. Not happy. I've had better cases at cheaper prices. Thought Plano was a good brand, thought I'd try Amazon - but, after placing several online orders with Amazon and other online venders - I am begining to think that the best way to buy is NOT online, but to see the item in person. Online when you purchase something really nice, is a bargin - but, online purchases that do not work out to your satisfaction, become only a hassle, cause you lose your shipping costs, and pay return shipping. It's a lose - lose situation.
